Look for some of your questions to be answered right here:

Q:

What can I do so that my sliding door slides smoother?

A:

If your sliding glass door works rough, have the neoprene roller/wheels replaced and clean the metal track.

Q:

What can I do so that my wood shingle roof could last longer?

A:

If you have a wood shingle roof, install a plastic pipe and sprinkler heads that will wet the shingles both for fire and protection and to keep the shingles from curling and may indeed strighten the existing curled shingles to help the roofing last another year or two.

Q:

What is the appropriate way to clean masonry?

A:

To clean the efflorescence (white fluff or powder) off masonry, use 1/3 muratic acid to two thirds water and scrub off with plastic stiff brush. Use plastic gloves and be careful you don't let olution splash in your eyes or on your skin. Then wash the wall off well with clean water quickly or the acid may burn some masonry surfaces.
